Aston Carter Staff Accountant in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Description:

• Financial statement preparation and variance analysis

• Fixed asset tracking and recording depreciation

• Assist with annual budget process

• Generate and process journal entries

• Monthly account reconciliations

• Work with finance team to collect receivables; apply cash receipts and reconcile cash daily

• Collaborate with accounting personnel to review customer invoices

• Assist Controller with monthly revenue cutoff and financial reporting

• Support the AR and AP processes

• Assist with implementing technology to create efficiencies

• Support payroll and employee benefits processing, as needed

• Other ad hoc financial reporting and analysis requests

Qualifications & Experience Preferred for the Staff Accountant:

• Substantial previous experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping (5 years +), including billing, receivables, payables, and financial statement preparation

• Aptitude to learn new systems and technology, oftentimes remotely and with limited training

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel - Pivot Tables & VLOOKUPs are a must

• Must thrive with being managed remotely and communicating via telephone and video conferencing

• 40-hour work week, with some overtime expected as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting and/or Finance
