VPT, Inc Shipping and Receiving Clerk in Blacksburg, Virginia
VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, has an immediate, entry level opening in our Shipping Department located in Blacksburg, Virginia.
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be an integral part of the Logistics team and a company that offers an engaging culture, excellent benefits and on-the-job training.
This is a full-time position with the working hours of Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (hour-long lunchbreak) and Friday 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Shipping and Receiving Clerk duties include, but are not limited to:
- Promptly unpacking incoming shipments and processing inventory receipts in the ERP system with a handheld barcode scanner
- Sorting and stocking product (small electronic components) by hand, organized by part and serial number
- Using the handheld barcode scanner to pick product for shipment
- Packaging product both in interior boxes and exterior cartons
- Ensuring all required shipping documentation and labels are applied to the carton
- Collaboration with other team members involved in the shipment and receipt of products
- Preparing palletized shipments
- Generating shipping and product labels within the ERP software system
- Maintaining an adequate supply of shipping materials and a clean work area
- Assisting with moving equipment as required
- Participation in quarterly inventory audits

Shipping and Receiving Clerk Requirements
- Able to lift packages up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office
- US Person
Compensation is competitive and will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.
