In this crucial role, you'll play a vital part in securing | | new projects by developing competitive bids and cost estimates. | | You'll work closely with project managers and analyze various | | construction documents, including blueprints, specifications, and | | site plans, to gain a comprehensive understanding of each project. | | Your expertise in civil construction will be key in accurately | | estimating costs for:. | | | | Key Responsibilities: | | | | - Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, | | focusing on areas like: | | - Erosion Control | | | | - Clearing and Excavation | | | | - Water/Sewer and Storm Drains | | | | - Storm Water Management | | | | - Curb and Site Concrete | | | | - - Stone Base and Asphalt Paving | | | | - Analyze blueprints, plans, and specifications to thoroughly | | understand project scope and requirements. | | | | - Research and secure qualified subcontractors through | | competitive bids, negotiating favorable terms. | | | | - Develop and present written proposals, cost estimates, | | budgets, and updates to clients and project managers. | | | | - Provide subcontractors with relevant drawings and | | specifications before the bidding process. | | | | - Attend pre-bid meetings when necessary to clarify project | | details. | | | | - Required: | | | | - 3-5 years of experience estimating large-scale civil | | construction projects, including experience with utility | | construction and/or excavation. | | | | - Experience working in a commercial or residential | | construction environment is a plus. | | | | - High school diploma or equivalent, or a degree in | | Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field | | (Civil Engineering experience is highly desirable). | | | | - Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and | | Outlook) for data analysis and reporting. | | | | - Excellent math skills and above-average computer literacy are | | essential for using construction estimating software. | | | | - Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and | | decision-making abilities. | | | | - Experience using AGTEK/Insite or similar construction | | estimating software is a strong plus. | | | | - Benefits: | | | | - 401(k) matching | | | | - Dental insurance | | | | - Employee assistance program | | | | - Flexible schedule
