Your Role asAuto A Technician

As an Auto A Technician, you will workas outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with shop and factory standards.

Key Job Description:

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Perform Diagnostics
  • Drains oil from the crankcase and refills with the required amount of oil.
  • Replaces oil and air filters with properly specific fluids and parts. Making sure everything is tightened and torqued to factory specs. (ex. Oil plugs and lugnuts)
  • Inspects vehicle fluid levels and replace
  • Inspect vehicles for other work to be sold (ex. Brakes, suspension, wipers, lights)
  • Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
  • Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Documents all work performed on the repair order.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by the service manager.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisors immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keeps the shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
  • Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Own tools

``` - Proven experience as auto mechanic - Excellent knowledge of mechanical, diagnostics, electrical and electronic components of vehicles - Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (ex. lift) - Valid certification (ex. ASE) is a definite plus
