Broome-Tioga BOCES Instructional Support Specialist - Professional Development in Binghamton, New York

10 Month Position

Commences September 2024

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate targeted professional learning on topics, including, but not limited to:

  • Instructional Practices

  • New Teacher Support

  • Project-Based Learning & Assessment

  • Restorative Practices

  • Social Studies

  • Provide professional learning and coaching including, but not limited to:

  • Providing feedback to teachers as part of an ongoing coaching cycle

  • Modeling effective instructional practices in classrooms

  • Leading data discussions tied to current, relevant data to assist teachers in designing instruction to meet students’ needs

  • Participating in team meetings with teachers and administrators regarding planning and evaluating professional development

  • Supporting district administration in their implementation of systems that support all learners

  • Access current research and best practices to integrate into professional learning experiences

  • Collaborate with members of the Professional Learning and Innovation Center and Instructional Programs in the design of professional learning

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NYS Teaching Certification

    Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • At least five years of successful classroom teaching experience

  • Experience providing professional learning/coaching

  • Social studies and/ or special education certification.
