Description
Director of Community Services
Full Time - Salary $55,000-60,000
TheDirector of Community Servicesis responsible for the ongoing administration and oversight of all aspects of Family Support Services programs. Specific programs include: Community Habilitation; Day Habilitation Without Walls; Family Reimbursed Respite, and In Home Respite. The Director will ensure that quality services are being provided and that there is ongoing growth and development in the listed programs. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for ensuring and monitoring adherence to all NYS OPWDD and Waiver regulations.
Provide administrative oversight of all day-to-day operations of assigned programs.
Create and maintain a stable workforce, including provision of oversight to the recruitment, hiring, supervision, and evaluation processes for direct care employees.
Develop, recommend, and implement new systems and programs designed to meet the needs of the agency and people receiving services.
Participate in program development including the establishment of annual programmatic goals and objectives.
Assist in maintaining applicable program policy and procedure manuals to be consistent with OPWDD regulations and agency policy.
Maintain responsibility and oversight of habilitation planning, documentation and billing, ensuring timely and accurate submission of Medicaid billing information.
Review and/or approve staff timecards, time sheets, leave requests and overtime.
Lead and mentor assigned staff. Complete and/or review staff performance evaluations.
Prepare and/or maintain adherence to the approved budget for related agency programs.
Represent Community Services on committees and boards in the community at large, and participate in all required and/or requested departmental or agency meetings.
Complete annual written program evaluations reflecting progress on annual goals and objectives.
Complete supervisory investigation and/or administrative review of assigned incident reports and generate appropriate recommendations.
Complete, and /or approve and review required documentation to ensure records are maintained in conformance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures as well as billing practices.

Requirements
A Masters Degree in Human Services field plus three (3) years experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity--OR--A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service field plus five (5) years experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity
• Possess a valid driver’s license and record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
