Then this is an outstanding opportunity to join the LEGO Education Design Team as an intern!

Core Responsibilities

The LEGO Education Design team consists of highly skilled people across various functions such as Industrial Design, Digital Design, UX and Model Design. Design research is driving our decision-making processes, and we pride ourselves in being highly iterative and agile in our methods.

As a Concept & Design intern , you will be working hands-on supporting the team in developing amazing experiences for learners across the globe. You will gain valuable experience working with people across various functional areas.

On a daily basis you will be working closely together with one of our Senior Concept & Design Leads handling concrete task within the domain of developing and designing our new and exciting products.

Starting with the initial release of LEGO MINDSTORMS™ in 1998, we have been at the forefront of building experiences that merge digital and physical play. Today, building on this history with products like LEGO SPIKE Prime™, LEGO SPIKE Essential™, LEGO BOOST™, and LEGO HIDDEN SIDE™. Creating these new types of learning and play opportunities for children requires a highly innovative, collaborative, and iterative mindset and approach.

Our team at LEGO® Education builds the technology that enables these types of creative, playful, and impactful learning experiences for children around the world. We are seeking a talented and passionate Concept & Design intern to join our team that designs and develops our STEAM learning products.

Do you have what it takes?

Past your bachelor studies on your way to obtaining a master’s degree within e.g. Industrial Design (or another relevant field).

  • Experience and a passion for working hands-on with the development of advanced products and product ecosystems (physical/digital) within e.g. consumer electronics, electronic toys, or other relevant industries.

  • Experience and passion for doing “quick and dirty” physical prototyping using various methods and materials, preferably with an interactive touch.

  • A T-shaped profile with an understanding of industrial design, and an interest in technology, UX, interaction design and digital design.

  • Solid mastering of relevant tools ranging from hand sketching to physical prototyping to software such as the Adobe package, Rhino (3d modelling) etc.

  • A positive person that always keeps your eye on the ball and the end goal.

  • A pragmatic doer that handles, and thrives well, in a high-paced and constantly evolving environment.

  • A dedicated teammate that truly believes that the best work is done collectively.

  • Good communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in spoken and written English.

In addition to the above the successful candidate will have a passion and interest for learning and children’s education.

Based in Billund:

This role is based in Billund, Denmark, and the candidate will be paid a monthly salary in order to cover living expenses. LEGO Education can assist in terms of finding accommodation in Billund.
