Job Summary:

The Customs Analyst will diligently work on international shipments for the Digital Imaging Segment, dealing with both internal (Production, Service, Sales, etc.) and external customers (Carriers, Freight Forwarders, Brokers, Consignees, etc.), while also fulfilling US CBP requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Assign and Review Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) classifications:
Review and apply US, Canadian and other regional HTS codes to the product catalog using the Customs Tariff, precedent rulings and Explanatory Notes
Create clear product descriptions as required under the Customs Regulations
Manage, update and maintain the existing HTS database
Maintain substantiation in local software system (OCR, SAP)
Audit Entries and Back-Up Documentation for Trade Compliance Requirements:
Review shipment documentation for the consistent and correct usage of HTS Codes, valuation, Country of Origin and preferential trade programs
Conduct post-entry audits and identify entry corrections as needed
Identify shipments requiring post-entry amendments and manage process through completion
Conduct Customs Broker Reviews:
Use service provider and Customs’ reports to evaluate performance
Prepare a comprehensive metrics review of Key Performance Indicators
Identify areas requiring improvement and develop solutions
Broker Relationship Management including Power of Attorney and Bond Renewals
Maintain a Customs Recordkeeping Program:
Ensure that all Customs Entry files have been received and contain all required documentation
Manage Customs Broker transactional issues:
Respond to inquiries from Customs Brokers and internal customers and resolve any issues impacting shipments including coordination with multiple forwarders to insure timely turnover and post-clearance delivery coordination
Manage temporary shipments, including claims for duty-free status under Chapter 98, TIBs, carnets
Familiarity with PGA declarations and applicability (emphasis on FDA)
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, preferably in a business discipline
Licensed Customs Broker / Certified Customs Specialist a plus
2+ years of experience in importing goods through Customs
Strong experience with classification under the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS)
Strong work ethic with a high level of personal integrity
Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills
Able to work independently as well as collaborate with other teams
Hands on proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Travel domestically for annual trainings
Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
Salary Range:
$77,000.00-$102,600.000
