The Production Manager will manage and coordinate all aspects of operations for the assigned department, ensuring safety, quality, cost, service, and employee relation needs are met. Will provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to Production Line Managers, Supervisors & Leads.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and manages daily operational requirements to consistently meet customer expectations through on the floor involvement.

  • Communicates regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

  • Oversees implementation of employee development programs to ensure company needs are met relative to employee knowledge, training, and development

  • Directly supervises production line managers and supervisors

  • Advises direct reports on proper handling of disciplinary actions, performance assessments, and overall communication with hourly associates.

  • Monitors staffing needs to allow company objectives to be met

  • Ensures a positive environment is maintained to allow for maximum employee involvement through department meetings, open-door policy, team activities, and empowerment

  • Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives. Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free

  • Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime

  • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations

  • Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality

  • Ensure adequate scheduling of staff

    Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Proven record in training employees about safety and production

  • Strong working knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations

  • Ability to coach and motivate employees

    Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of supervisory experience with a significant level of responsibility with operations and personnel or commensurate experience gained from on-the-job training

  • Manufacturing experience required

  • Demonstrates leadership ability and strong communication skills

  • Personal computer skills including MS Word and Excel

  • Ability to work within timelines and in pressure situations

  • Ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
