Job Description: Skilled Concrete Laborer
Reports to:
Labor Foreman
Summary of Responsibilities:
Laborers are primarily involved in the handling of various forming materials and in the placing of concrete.
Minimum Qualifications:
General knowledge of company safety program.
General knowledge of construction site format, function and layout.
Possess sufficient strength, skill, dexterity, constitution and endurance to perform the functions of the job properly in a reasonable and timely manner.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Attends required safety meetings; complies with company safety program and policies.
Assists labor foreman with training and orientation of new laborers.
Performs general housekeeping like clean up and trash removal.
Safely and efficiently handles and stores other materials used on site such as curing compound, form oil, come-alongs, shovels, and other materials
Safely and efficiently work with concrete in slabs, walls, columns, foundations, and curbs.
Safely and efficiently handles and moves forming materials such as metal scaffolding, aluminum beams, plywood, 2x4s, re-shores (mega shores, doka props,4x4 jack props), adjustable screws, base plates, cross braces, connectors, universal heads, and other equipment.
Physical
Demands:
The physical demands must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the essential functions, the employee is regularly able to lift and carry at least 85+ pounds and possess sufficient strength, skill, dexterity, constitution and endurance to perform the functions of the job properly in a reasonable and timely manner.
Work Environment:
Work in outdoor conditions, year-round, at a concrete construction site where noise, vibrations, and hazards commonly associated with this type of work exist.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of related experience
High school education (or equivalent) preferable and basic knowledge of mathematics
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work and day are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm or until the work is completed. The employee may work on Saturday/Sunday and at night as necessary.
