Job Description
The senior systems administrator will primarily work with our MSP and ensure our entire environment is secure, always available and functional. Other areas of work include scripting, automation of workflows and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain our Microsoft 365 tenant and all integrated products.
Manage and maintain our Windows servers. Linux knowledge is a plus.
Manage, design, deploy, and monitor AWS cloud servers/solutions.
Have working knowledge of Microsoft Co-pilot and/or ChatGPT Enterprise
Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of system and network issues.
Implement new and maintain current IT/system security policies.
Manage, monitor and coordinate all system updates and backups.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless operations.
Manage internal IT projects as well as external projects.
Server/Storage:
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
Maintain the organization's email system and monitor server performance and mail routing.
Administer Windows OS, Exchange, Sharepoint, and other MS products.
Design and perform administration of AWS and Snowflake.
Backup/Recovery:
Design proper backup and restore infrastructure by possible scenario cases
Participate and help manage disaster recovery.
Perform scheduled backup and restore tests.
System Security and Compliance:
Implement and monitor security policies to protect IT infrastructure.
Stay updated on industry standards and compliance requirements.
Participate in response to and mitigate security incidents in a timely manner.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
Undergraduate degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in Windows, Linux, and AWS administration.
Preferred AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent )
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task across all aspects of the company’s divisions.
Applicants must be competent in prioritizing, working with little supervision and self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Requirements • Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in a Systems Engineer role or similar.
• Proficiency in Cisco Technologies is required.
• Proficiency in Citrix Technologies is necessary.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Technologies is needed.
• Experience with DELL EMC Technologies and Dell Technologies is crucial.
• Familiarity with AB Testing is required.
• Experience with Active Directory is necessary.
• Automation skills are needed.
• Proficiency in AWS Technologies is required.
• Experience with Backup Technologies is necessary.
• Familiarity with Windows Server is required.
• Experience with Windows 10 is necessary.
• Familiarity with Windows 11 is crucial.
• Experience with Windows Azure is required.
• Knowledge of System Backups is necessary.
