About the position
As a Business Analyst on the Digital Strategy and Implementation Team, you will support the execution of the technology roadmap that sets the future direction of the SPG businesses. You will play a pivotal role in all requirements, testing and prototyping of new capabilities that optimize the customer and agent experience. In this role you will be interacting with a variety of business partners to support the design and development of best-in-class digital solutions. As a Business Analyst, you will be a key member of the team responsible for ensuring that our technology solutions meet the needs of our businesses and organizational strategies. Additional responsibilities include:
Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and develop detailed business requirements that support digital platform development and implementation.
Conduct thorough gap analyses of current state versus future state, and based on findings provide actionable recommendations.
Design, execute and maintain detailed project plans and test plans based on defined business requirements.
Perform user acceptance testing for all new system implementations and enhancements.
Identify and report system defects and ensure all systems meet our business requirements.
Translate identified defects into actionable items and collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, product managers to resolve noted defects.
Provide updates and reports on UAT progress, issues, and results to project managers.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Specialty Program Groups strategic internal and external facing systems.
Work closely with UAT participants to define and understand all testing objectives and anticipated outcomes.
Build relationships with IT, Operation teams and third-party vendors supporting deliverables.
Ideal Experience
The Business Analyst will be a business enabler who is results-oriented and committed to flawless execution. He/she will have the ability to work across several projects, partnering with different stakeholders and effectively managing project milestones and deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum 2 years of Underwriting rating experience, ideally with some experience in Property Casualty.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into requirements that support optimal system outcomes.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with ability to write succinct emails outlining project deliverables and action items.
Highly organized, with strong Project Management skills and ability to support multiple workstreams and deliverables.
Experience with Agile methodologies and hands-on practice working on Agile projects.
Advanced skills in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and ideally, experience with Jira and Confluence, and Smartsheet.
Experience in writing SQL queries is a plus.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
