Join our dynamic and forward-thinking People Technology engineering organization. As a Senior Software Engineer , you'll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. You'll oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor, a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done. You will be part of the transformative projects and foundational improvements of Walmart's Workforce Enablement systems.

What You'll Do :

  • Work closely with business partners and other engineers to gather requirements and contribute to the design and development of robust software solutions. Participate in design sessions and code review meetings to ensure high-quality code.

  • Lead the design and creation of scalable, secure, and efficient backend services and microservices architecture using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and other modern technologies.

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient deployments. Monitor and maintain existing applications to ensure operational excellence.

  • Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues, providing high-quality solutions that are scalable and maintainable.

  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Lead by example, taking ownership of features and driving them to completion.

  • Implement monitoring and telemetry systems to ensure the stability and performance of applications. Utilize metrics and logging to proactively identify and address issues.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends in software engineering and continuously incorporate new technologies and best practices into the development process.

What You'll Bring :

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.Proficiency in related technologies such as Hibernate, GraphQL and RESTful APIs.

  • Extensive understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and best practices for designing scalable and resilient backend systems. Proficient in using Kafka for building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex software problems using analysis, experience, and decision-making skills.

  • Commitment to writing clean, testable code with a focus on test coverage and quality assurance. Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Maven, Jenkins, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Proficiency in building and deploying applications in cloud environments (Azure, or GCP) and leveraging cloud-native services

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

  • A constant desire to improve and learn, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

  • Proven ability to lead projects and teams, taking ownership of tasks and driving them to successful completion.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
