What you'll do...

The Senior Product Manager for our Cloud-Powered Checkout (CPC) is a key role in defining the end-to-end roadmap for the backend of in-store transactions. This role involves piloting and rolling out innovative technologies that enhance the customer checkout experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing an agile team of 10-12 engineers. As part of the Walmart Global Tech family, you will have access to cutting-edge technology solutions, and you will be instrumental in devising new solutions for various international markets with unique customer needs.

The International Product org gathers information about customer needs and applies our technological expertise and strategic thinking to create a product roadmap. The product journey is designed to leverage technological excellence to drive customer satisfaction. Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with directly with the markets (operations and market support teams), including more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few. We work in close collaboration with our International and US engineering partners to translate customer / business needs into technical requirements - these are later built by the engineering teams to make a real life difference for our operations and for our end customers. The International Point-of-Sale team is instrumental in realizing this vision for a delightful shopping experience in-stores, as we build critical user journeys and services that power the customer checkout experience across physical stores (Walmart, Sam's Club, and other market specific brands) across Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Central American markets, including varying front-end checkout options such as staffed lane checkout, self-checkout, mobile checkout solutions, and shrink prevention solutions at checkout and store exit and the cloud-powered backend that makes the in-store checkout experience possible.

What You'll Do:

As a Senior Product Manager for the Cloud-Powered Checkout (CPC), you will:

  • Own the technical product roadmap and execution for one agile team, comprising 10-12 engineers. This product team owns the back-end technical services for in-store cart building and checkout.

  • Interface with cross-functional teams such as Accounting, Payments, various Clients (checkout terminals of different types), fraud engines, tax, item catalog, ensuring smooth communication and coordination

  • Lead the prioritization of critical projects, effectively balancing business objectives, market needs, and technical feasibility.

  • Act as an emissary for business cases, presenting and advocating for our team's work in various forums.

  • Drive decision-making processes through your insightful use of data and financial analysis.

  • Track both technical and business OKRs across your product

What You'll Bring

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Strong cross-business function and cross-team management skills. You need to be able to navigate and influence various stakeholders, often without direct authority.

  • Solid technical background. Prior experience in a technical product role or an engineering background is highly recommended.

  • Proficiency in SQL. You will need to manipulate and analyze data to inform your decision-making.

  • Financial and business acumen. You should be comfortable handling numbers and working in tandem with finance partners to create business cases for proposed projects.

  • Outstanding communication skills. You should be able to articulate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner to various stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • MBA or Master's in Product preferred.

  • Prior experience in a technical product role or an engineering role.

  • Proficiency in SQL.

  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and projects.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
