Overview
The Vermont Veterans\' Home, a long-term care nursing facility, is seeking to hire a cook with experience in volume cooking to prepare meals for our veterans and members. This is a temporary position working approximately 24 hours per week, primarily filling in gaps in the schedule and assisting at special events. The hours will vary and will include weekends and holidays.

The hourly rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Environmental Factors
Work is performed in an institutional kitchen during an assigned shift. Incumbents must be able to operate cutters and slicers, handle knives, lift heavy weights (up to 60 lbs.) and work under conditions of high heat and humidity. Duties include supervision of dietary staff and lower level cooks in work situations.
