What the day will look like
This is a varied role with a mixed skillset where your most important ability is adaptability. You are able to write and review code in a variety of languages such as C#, Python and T-SQL and can use your excellent grasp on software engineering principles to educate and guide consultants on best practices delivering software. You understand why CI/CD is important, and what makes a good pipeline. Your working day could include any or all of the following:
Leading and mentoring team members
Reviewing code and ensuring the highest possible standard for quality
Working with the other team leads and the Product Lead to define and deliver product architecture
Ensuring Agile epics are progressing on schedule and reporting appropriately
Engaging with business leads, business analysts, actuaries and QA experts to understand requirements, and ensure the software delivery exceeds expectations
Actively driving product and team improvements
Being a quality evangelist – ensuring that the product is of the highest possible quality, and that all work is exceptional
Working with the Product Owner, Programme Management Office and Development Management in sprint and release planning
Ensuring all team members excel in their roles and adhere to the highest possible standards
Writing and architecting secure, efficient, testable, maintainable and functionally correct code
While the role will undoubtedly require hands-on development work, it is expected that the majority of time will be spent working through others.

Good familiarity with application architectures and design patterns
Development and release best practices
Experience with modern technologies and applications
Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures)
.NET/C#
Git (incl. GitFlow)
Willing to learn a DSL
Good to have:

Microsoft Visual Studio
DevOps (Octopus Deploy, Azure Pipelines)
Azure Cloud development
