Job Description

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8+ years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Developing and Supporting apps in Java/ Spring/ Spring Boot/ Microservices. Roughly 90% hands-on coding.

  • Master in coding, testing, code review with a solid understanding of deployment and support processes.

  • Implementing application solutions that leverage OCI services. Suggest and execute changes to the program and implement the changes to the enabling tools.

  • Work with an architect team to design product features and participate in design decisions to give inputs and be part of Architect council team.

  • Advising and implementing OCI/AWS/GCP cloud security best practices

  • Implementing, testing, and maintaining OCI services technologies across the stack (e.g., network, application, data)

  • Apply knowledge of Cloud technologies and application development industry trends and technology to drive organizational change and position to properly manage and remediate vulnerabilities.

  • Build reusable component/building framework playbooks.

  • Coach junior team members in the team to understand and deliver based on the requirements of the program.

  • Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches

  • Partner effectively with all team members to deliver against commitments

  • Work cross-functionally with various teams: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results

  • Participate in Tech summits, Hackathons and develop patents

  • Contribute to the Security Testing Streams and tools.

  • Contribute to security coding guidelines for different programming languages.

  • Enable security programs by creating, on-boarding, maintaining and supporting tools.

  • Implicit security, globalization, accessibility and data driven report mindset with design covering this

  • Conduct brownbag sessions or micro-learning series contribution on latest tech or ongoing tech trends. Participate in Tech summits, Hackathons and develop patents.

  • Working in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in computer science or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years of Overall IT experience developing web or other software.

  • 3+ years of experience with all or some of the Security practices.

  • Experience with Java/J2EE, Any JavaScript framework, Spring-boot, Hibernate, JMS, Test NG, relational databases and SQL. Big-data is added advantage.

  • Experience designing/implementing high performance Web services using REST

  • An understanding of unit testing & Test Driven Development

  • Experience with Agile Development/SCRUM

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a history of superb delivery against assigned tasks

  • Outstanding partnership skills.
