Google Silicon Validation Engineer, ML/AI, Silicon in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent practical experience

  • 3 years of experience with pre-silicon or post-silicon domains.

  • 2 years of experience in silicon validation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience programming in C++ and scripting in Python/Perl/Tcl.

  • Experience with complex system debug, embedded operating systems and bare metal programming.

  • Experience in Machine Learning (ML) inference of imaging, speech, text and other AI workloads, AI accelerators for mobile devices.

  • Knowledge of Tensor/Neural Processing Units.

  • Knowledge of operating system fundamentals.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

  • Develop and execute test procedures to establish functionality of the new silicon.

  • Debug failures with cross-functional teams for silicon, boards, software, manufacturing.

  • Provide regular updates about silicon health to platform, software and volume manufacturing teams.

  • Plan, develop, and execute tests to validate TPU subsystem and integration at the system level.

  • Validation of hardware accelerator engine for machine learning activities.
