Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of sophisticated technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

The Fusion Applications Cloud Services team is building a next generation cloud platform that supports the most demanding critical customer requirements, operating at global scale to provide a secure, distributed, multi-tenant cloud environments for Fusion and other Oracle applications.

This is your opportunity to be a core part of the team that defines and delivers exciting new capabilities for Oracle’s flagship Fusion Applications Cloud Services space. We are seeking a candidate with strong software development and/or system engineering experience in platform level products or services.

In this role, you will lead the identification, analysis, and design of highly complex new and existing systems by analyzing data, conferring with subject matter experts to define requirements and objectives, and evaluating the feasibility of proposed new solutions. You will appraise the practicability of enhancements to existing systems and proposed new systems, and recommends solutions. This position is responsible for making technical decisions in systems architecture, including development and maintenance processes.

You will lead and coordinate efforts between cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class capabilities for the service. You will be expected to assess appropriate trade-offs to optimize customer experience, time-to-market, and to clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal collaborators and remote teams.

The right candidate will possess a strong technical background in Oracle Cloud Technology and Services, an ability to design and implement technical architecture based on business requirements and technical strategies.

You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level critical initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As such, we are looking for a candidate that possesses a(n):

  • Experience in Data Engineering for Data Science/AI/ML implementations (4+ yrs of experience)

  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining optimal, scalable data pipelines for analytics and model training

  • Expertise in ETL, cataloging, curating and analyzing large, complex and disparate data sets

  • Good understanding of Cloud Native technologies

  • Unique talent to influence and analyze complex product technical solutions

  • Proven business acumen to apply effective business judgment

  • Customer-centric approach

  • Excellent and effective negotiation skills

Key Responsibilities:

· In this position, you will play the pivotal role of developing software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to identify meaningful insights for operation from large data and metadata. You’ll work with our customers, engineering and internal collaborators to gain operational insight across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. Other responsibilities include:

  • Increasing ops efficiency by reducing noise and enriching incident data

  • Increase uptime of system by predicting failure and taking proactive action

  • Reliability Engineering, Performance Analytics and Capacity Forecasting

  • Lead and participate in planning meetings and provide leadership on direction of products

  • Communicate vision and goals of existing and new products to both internal collaborators, the analyst community, and customers

  • Influence engineering organizations to focus on new feature innovation

  • Work closely with the SaaS and Platform teams and be their internal and external champion

  • Define, implement, and analyze success metrics

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field

· 4+ years of experience as Data Engineer, ETL Developer, Data scientist or ML engineer

· Attention to detail & proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities, simultaneously

· Ability to think both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

· MS in Computer Science or Statistics

· Experience in data science or related technology

· Experience in designing and launching Cloud products
