STAINLESS TANK & EQUIPMENT CO Mechanical Design Engineer in BELOIT, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Apply engineering method to develop products while ensuring quality, regulatory, and profitability requirements. Assist and troubleshoot problems and/or questions with production staff on fabrication of components and assemblies. Calculate material usage for all components and parts for assemblies. Collaborate with designers on improvements to product lines. Complete updates or changes to released engineering documents via Engineering Change Notice (ECN) procedure. Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components and/or machinery, using computer-assisted equipment. Confer with Chief Engineer to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to installation of systems. Coordinate with and consult with other workers to design, layout, detail components and systems resolving any design or other problems. Create and enter part numbers, bills of material & shop floor routings into ERP system. Create models, prints, schematics, and bill of materials for production aid. Design, calculate, and draft pressure vessels and corresponding structural components using STE\'s CAD and FEA software. Develop 3D models & detailed drawings for components, assemblies and hardware based on specifications from sales. Develop drawings/specifications to all applicable regulations and standards. Evaluate change requests with respect to effects on cost, weight, ease of manufacturing, quality and customer impact. Layout, draw, and detail schematics, parts, and assemblies with all necessary views and content to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and installations Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems. Notify supervisor of any quality concerns or delays. Position instructions and comments onto drawings, reference manuals, and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed. Review drawings, bills of material, and routings to verify accuracy of information.
