Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Seeking skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Successful candidates will focus on mechanical issues in machines that manufacture drive shafts for powertrain components, including balancers, friction welders, snap ring presses, straighteners, CNC lathes, electromagnetic welders, and CNC rolling machines. Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical problems, ranging from broken hydraulics to motor replacements, and occasionally collaborating with electricians on larger issues. The role includes MIG/Stick welding and pipe threading, with relevant tests conducted during the interview process.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in BELLEVILLE, Michigan.

Work Environment

The work environment is a well-lit, clean, unionized facility that spans nearly 500,000 square feet. During the summer, the temperature inside the plant is about 10 degrees above the external temperature. Employees may need to walk long distances or use bikes to navigate the facility. As a union facility, strict adherence to the division of mechanical and electrical work is required. The position is strictly focused on mechanical maintenance. Overtime is currently consistent with a 7-day workweek on the 2nd shift from 3 pm to 11 pm.
