WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develops and recommends to senior management, purchasing policies for the organization.

  • Manages the purchase of materials and supplies for the operation of the organization.

  • Records and distributes written correspondence and documentation of all purchased material for internal and external customers.

  • Manages the billing of inventoried material to jobs.

  • Actively participates in vendor relations, vendor selection, negotiation of terms, pricing, etc.

  • Acts as a liaison between supplier, management, and client.

  • Schedules deliveries in coordination with the vendor, warehouse manager, field staff and/or other stakeholders.

  • Manages the maintenance of records of purchases, delivery dates, vendors, costs, and other resources.

  • Recommends policy or process changes to streamline operations relating to warehousing or purchasing.

  • Coordinates and supervises returns of material to the vendors. Responsible for completion of the correspondence and paperwork relating to the return.

  • Research new developments in material and tools related to the plumbing field to ensure procurement of the most suitable material and equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and cost.

  • Analyze market trends to anticipate changes in material costs and availability.

    WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the mechanical contracting or construction industry.

  • Knowledge of materials and supplies used in trades.

  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities per work schedule.

  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple conflicting priorities effectively.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of Williams organization as well as people outside of the organization.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain quality relationships with team members, customers, and vendors.
