CARTER BLOODCARE Medical Director in Bedford, Texas

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Medical Director reports to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and collaborates with other medical directors in the medical and technical oversight of blood center, the transfusion services, and assigned departments. Participates in shared medical call rotation with physician team.

Regular full time attendance is required during normal working hours.

EDUCATION

Required:

  • M.D., D.O. Degree
  • Licensed or eligible for a Texas medical license and the ability to obtain other state medical licensure, as needed
  • Board-certified in blood banking and transfusion medicine

EXPERIENCE

  • Successful completion of a blood banking and transfusion medicine fellowship approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in blood banking, transfusion medicine, or advanced biotherapies
  • Bilingual (Spanish), preferred

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Current knowledge of blood banking, transfusion medicine and advanced biotherapy regulations and standards
  • Team-building and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to speak in front of professional groups
