WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an outstanding Lead Apparel Color Designer to combine their experience, problem solving abilities, and creativity to help build the future of Jordan Color.

The ideal candidate needs to be a highly creative problem solver, who doesn’t settle for anything less than the best, to meet the needs of the consumer or athlete. This person will be passionate about elevating color through storytelling and cohesion across men’s, women’s, and kid’s apparel color.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As our Sport Lead Apparel Color Designer, you'll work under the direction of the Apparel Color Design Director to create original color palettes and narratives. You will own and launch strategy and approach, seasonal color refresh on existing products with supervision from Design leadership. You will set color launch and lifespan strategy on new models/styles in collaboration with Product and Materials Design. Set season color and blocking intent for a broad range of product price points, consumers and model types. You will be an active and proficient participant in the holistic creative process. You’ll communicate and present design concepts to internal and external audiences. As well as collaborate and communicate cross-functionally with key partners.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

If this is you, you’ll be partnering with the Jordan FW Materials, Apparel Design and Development teams, and have important cross-functional relationships with our Product Management and Merchandising teams to bring to life the seasonal creative direction through Color Design, future forward trends and innovations.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in textiles, materials, apparel, product design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Preferred design experience: 5-7 years

  • Creative experience (consumer/segment/dimensions)

  • Knowledge of creative culture

  • Digital design acumen (design-based software needed: Creative Suite)

  • Preferred knowledge and experience with advanced digital tools/3D skills

  • Expert of make and manufacturing

  • Proficient presentation & communication skills

  • Proficient design skills, brief to presentation to manufacturing

  • Proficient creative process

  • Proficient in color theory and achievability

  • Basic business context

  • Basic understanding of insights

  • Strong color sensibility & cultural awareness
