KBR Engineering Subject Matter Expert in Beavercreek Township, Ohio

Title:

Engineering Subject Matter Expert

KBR requires an Engineering (SME), located in Dayton, OH, to support several large Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) aircraft programs and initiatives. This candidate will lead OSD, HAF, and AFLCMC-level engineering studies/analyses to support major USAF weapon system program decisions. The candidate will provide expert guidance and recommendations that shape acquisition strategies to multiple program offices and to OSD, HAF, and AFLCMC senior staff. Candidate will perform a variety of engineering work in the development of an operable system capable of meeting requirements. Usually is an engineering generalist with knowledge in several different engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical and aerospace. Participates in the company's strategic planning of the projects in the areas of personal technical expertise. Provides technical direction and instruction relative to design problems and provides solutions. Conducts special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommends changes as appropriate to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet changed or new requirements. Analyzes project requirements and provides information and instruction for operating, maintaining, trouble-shooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment as appropriate. Plans and coordinates the work of other engineers and technical personnel. Acts as consultant to senior management. Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel: Regular travel (10%) to AFLCMC, Air Force Sustainment Center, and contractor locations.

Requirements

The Engineering SME must demonstrate comprehensive experience and knowledge of:

• Current USAF engineering processes and policies to include airworthiness and weapon system integrity programs

• Chief Engineer and or Lead Engineer functions

• Directing technical analyses and product improvements for weapon systems

• Developing ACAT I/II/III engineering artifact such as Systems Engineering Plans, Programmatic Environmental Safety and Occupational Health evaluations, and other acquisition milestone deliverables

DoD Clearance Requirement: SECRET

The Engineering SME must have at least 15 years of experience in DoD/Air Force engineering. At least (3) years acting as an ACAT I/II/III Chief Engineer or Lead Engineer within the last 10 years.

Candidate must possess the ability to work well as part of a team and with minimal supervision.

Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree and 15 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 12 years of experience is required. Master’s degree in business or engineering is desired. The position will allow various combinations of education and experience using a 1 year of education for 1 year of experience substitution.

Preferred Skills

• Experience as an ACAT I/II/III Chief Engineer or Lead Engineer

• Experience developing ACAT I/II/III engineering artifacts

• System Planning, Research, Development and Engineering Level III DAWIA certification
