  • Uses TIG welding to weld production parts

  • Uses standard hand welding to perform rework on parts, drier cans, etc.

  • Sets up welding equipment and bracket parts to be welded

  • Adjusts welder as needed to obtain proper heat for accurate welding beads

  • Responsible for welding equipment

  • Responsible for the quality of materials or products welded

  • Inspection of material (looking for defects on parts)

  • Material Handling

  • Train others in Operation related skills and procedures Produce quality parts

  • Meet productivity requirements

  • Exercise good housekeeping in work area 5S plus Safety

  • Support and participate in Parker’s “Lean” initiatives. Keep work area, clean and organized.

  • Follow safety requirements and promotes sound safety practices; report all accidents and unsafe conditions and wear all Personal Protective Equipment.

    Education required:

    Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required

    Experience:

  • Welding Certification

  • 1-3 years of Welding training or experience

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proficient math and measuring skills

  • Cooperative, positive can-do attitude

  • Ability to read blueprints and use various measuring tools such as calipers and other gages

  • Must become certified as “Trained” within probationary period

  • Self-Directed with ability to work independently with little direction from supervisor

  • Able to effectively communicate with others.

    Skills/Competencies:

  • Computer experience to locate and enter information via computer

    Physical Requirements:

  • Exert 25 pounds of force seldom, and/or

  • Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force sometimes.

  • Exert up to 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.

  • Stand, walk, push, pull reach overhead and bend to the floor.

  • Report directly to the VSTL or Value Stream Manager

  • Work closely with all value stream team leads, shop floor employees, production control, and engineering.

    Other Skills:

    Ability to work well in a team environment
