Verizon Base Planning and Strategy Senior Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey

When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world's leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect around the world. We're a human network that reaches across the globe and works behind the scenes. We anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together-lifting up our communities and striving to make an impact to move the world forward. If you're fueled by purpose, and powered by persistence, explore a career with us. Here, you'll discover the rigor it takes to make a difference and the fulfillment that comes with living the #NetworkLife.

What you'll be doing...

In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for marketing planning within the Acquisition & Base Marketing team. You will help define our strategic marketing approach to grow and retain revenue and develop quarterly and annual marketing plans to drive results.

As part of the strategy team, you will work cross-functionally with the Senior Director team to evaluate key cohorts within our base, analyze performance across a variety of KPIs, and assess potential threats in the competitive landscape to uncover new opportunities for Verizon to acquire customers, drive revenue through cross-selling and product/perk adoption, and retain subscribers through loyalty & retention programs. A critical part of your success in this role will be your ability to develop and coordinate marketing strategy across multiple teams, and to facilitate collaborative and productive relationships with peers across VCG -- both within the Digital Marketing & Base Management team and other key stakeholders across the business.

You will be the key conduit between the Acquisition and Base Marketing team and our partners within the local markets and segment marketing teams. You'll help translate how our core strategies apply to identified opportunities within their programs and drive impact/results. Through strong and sustained collaboration, you'll help ensure that we leverage opportunities to integrate key insights from these groups back into our overall base marketing program and strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing the Acquisition & Base Marketing strategic plan to deliver on 2024 KPIs.

  • Leading strategic plan development for priority marketing plan initiatives.

  • Working cross-functionally across base management, targeted acquisition, performance management, communications, and digital teams to build and implement best-in-class marketing plans.

  • Driving data-based analyses on key business metrics, customer cohorts and segments, and competitors.

  • Working with strategic partners to build long-term plans that shape Mobile, Fios, and FWA.

  • Evaluating industry trends, marketing, and internal factors and assessing the viability of alternative strategies.

What we're looking for...

You are a creative and innovative thinker, but you are not just a big idea person -- you know what makes sense and how to get it done. You have conviction in your ideas but know how to collaborate and when to adjust your approach. You have an innate ability to utilize your experience and business knowledge to develop marketing plans as well as guide the strategy and execution of critical marketing programs.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience gathering, organizing, and analyzing large amounts of information.

  • Experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Experience and understanding of Home and Mobile products and services.

  • Prior marketing and/or finance-related experience, such as market research, financial analysis, pricing, product marketing, or strategic planning.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master's degree, preferably an MBA.

  • Diverse experience in the wireless and telecommunications industry.

  • Ability to think strategically and to "see the big picture".

  • Prior CRM, lifecycle management experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to simplify complex concepts and "tell the story" effectively to any audience.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
