Data Center is a complex application and a strategic growth area for Eaton. It has unique characteristics derived from the fact that it straddles IT and facility, and that the Data Center and IT are in the middle of a radical transformation due to the combination of digitization and surge of AI loads driving a fast growth in power needs on the one hand, and de-carbonization and grid saturation on other hand.

We are currently seeking an Outside Sales Engineer (m/f/d) for Data Centers to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. The role involves establishing, protecting, and expanding the business of Eaton products & services within specified accounts. As such be responsible and accountable for orders and revenue attainment goals within assigned accounts. You will build insight and relationships with client organisation(s) with a view to identifying their operational challenges and needs. You will utilize Eaton expertise and resources to generate high, value added, engineering and commercial proposals. To secure orders which create a profitable, sustainable growth business. To manage & communicate effectively the business conducted between both organizations.

What you’ll do:

  • Being accountable for and building your individual sales strategy & action plan for short- and long-term sales success in the territory, and executing that plan.

  • Providing weekly forecast reports to management and tracking progress toward KPIs.

  • Collaborating with sales, marketing, product and other support functions to develop and implement sales strategies, building and maintaining relationships with customers, understanding their needs and requirements, providing them with value-based solutions and addressing any questions or concerns.

  • Keeping up to date on industry trends and market conditions and adapting your sales strategies accordingly.

  • Being data-driven, able to understand data, draw conclusions and make recommendations on how we should adapt based on what we are seeing. Identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities across the region that can be developed whether in existing accounts or new opportunities.

  • Drive sales growth and ensure sales, profit and margin targets are achieved in line with overall business objectives.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers, understanding their needs and requirements and providing them with relevant product and product knowledge and addressing any questions or concerns

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field, ideally Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • 3 or more years of experience in a similar sales or technical role within the Data Center, IT, or Telecom Infrastructure Industry.

Skills:

  • Strong background in Data Centers

  • Commercial Savvy

  • Experience and knowledge in this industry and application in Iberia

  • Major account selling experience

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish

  • Initiative and self-management skills.

  • Knowledge in Sales Force or other CRM applications, and SAP

  • Project management skills
