Sensata Technologies, Inc. SIOP Demand Planner in Baoying, China

Sensata industrial group is building upon its efforts to develop and implement a world class SIOP Demand planning process and organization.

The Industrial team within Sensata is seeking an individual who has a proven demand planning , analytical problem solving and results-driven background to drive Demand management within the Industrial SIOP organization. The candidate should be a self-starter, able and willing to learn new tools and processes, think critically and creatively, and encouraged to challenge various team members. The SIOP Demand Planner encourages to use Demantra, BI tools/reporting solutions, is persistent in seeing them through.

The incumbent is responsible to collect demand information and requests, develop and track demand plan results to achieve a high level of confidence in the demand planning process. The incumbent leads demand plan reconciliation and communicates with the sales, marketing, project management and operations team.

This role works with the team of SIOP demand, Supply, Inventory and Customer Service leaders and will report to the Sr Manager Demand Planning.

The incumbent collaborates with the SIOP GPOs (Supply, Demand, Customer service, Materials Planning and KPI), Industrial Business Unit functions (Sales, Marketing, Project management, and Product Management, Finance, IT), and factory team members, to implement demand plan, develop relevant and accurate reporting, and report back on results.

  • Communicate directly with team members about improvement efforts and their progress

  • Drive processes to achieve short, medium, and long-term demand plan visibility, accuracy, and gaps to the Annual Planning targets consistently.

  • Determine issues and develop improvement solutions to drive Forecast Accuracy, Demand Planning process cadence, Phase in and phase out process deployment, E&O reduction, Plan for Every Part (PFEP), master data accuracy, lead time segmentation while taking into consideration corporate goals to improve customer satisfaction (via on-time delivery) and overall cost-to-serve (inventory, expedite freight, etc.)

  • Ensure SIOP process integrity and data excellence through compliance with internal policies and controls.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead current SIOP demand planning process reporting as in Demand/ Sales performance, Product segmentation, Master data, Contractual agreements, and logistics.

  • Work with global demand planning team on establishing demand planning templates and process cadences as a part of overall SIOP transformation.

  • Leads in the creation of future Demand plans

  • Handles any communication with marketing, manufacturing and customer service to ensure accuracy and efficiency of message

  • Leads in the measuring and monitoring of specific product / program categories

  • Leads in creating a demand plan that will be used throughout the company in regard to supply planning

  • Leads in in-depth analysis with large amounts of data to run various statistics and analyses on the company to help future predictability of demand planning

  • Establish standard mechanism of importing customer inputs using external data such as market research, vehicle builds, economic environment, customer specific inputs and customer portals.

  • Establish standard mechanism of using internal inputs for demand planning such as order fill, EDIs, new business opportunities, product life cycle attributes, salesperson inputs and contractual agreements.

  • Set up product portfolio reviews with product management and project management teams by providing relevant data and templates

  • Establish report out and accuracy for Internal and external demand planning inputs to develop exception-based actions and support Monthly cadence at different levels of organization.

  • Use expertise in data visualization and tools (Oracle analytics Clod/OAC, Oracle Business Intelligence / OBIEE) to establish dashboards and trackers for SIOP metrics focused don demand planning.

  • Automate analytic techniques to interpret data, identify issues, analyze causes, data visualization and provide automated-Bot solutions.

  • Work closely with the team of GPOs to understand overall SIOP objectives and represent the interests of Demand planning though different level (ls of organization.

  • Report monthly data on KPIs (Forecast accuracy, , new business launch conversion rates, segmentation) and drive opportunities for improvement.

  • Work closely with Planning teams on development and execution of SIOP improvement projects.

  • Work with SIMs (Sales and Inventory management team) to drive improvement and root cause analysis for excess and obsolete inventory, inventory aging, and contractual inventory management at DCs.

  • Collaborate with the customer service on customer specific improvement projects and impact to demand accuracy.

  • Work with SIOP team members in developing or implementing general SIOP project improvements.

  • Work with SIOP team in improving the execution and/or design of the SIOP Reviews as per the monthly SIOP cadence.

  • Lead Demand Reviews and actively participate in Supply Reviews, or other SIOP meetings.

  • Prepares and runs demand planning discussions and improvement meetings with cross-functional teams.

  • Prepares training material and arranges for training sessions with various team members

  • Process and Data Orientation

  • Clearly understands a high volume of data and able to interpret and present to support decision making

  • Experience in using problem-solving tool such as Oracle Analytic Cloud, OBIEE, SAP Hana, tableau, R analytics etc. to develop reporting and techniques to create visualizations.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, science, supply chain, engineering, economics, or equivalent discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Preferred 4 years postgraduate experience in with some experience in Demand or Supply or Inventory or Materials or Customer service or operations and including deep understanding of IT reporting analytics using big data.

  • Advanced Planning System experience preferred (Oracle VCP suite such as ASCP, Demantra, IO or SAP APO, Logility, Kinaxis etc.) preferred

  • An analytical mind with attention to detail and an ability to interpret data for robust decision making.

  • Experience of developing internal and external customer relationships and building collaborative processes

  • Previous experience working with all levels in a complex and matrixed environment.

  • An excellent communicator and influencer at all levels of an organization.

  • A passion to succeed and challenge the status quo where adding value.

  • Proficient with Microsoft suites, Knowledge of excel macros and VBA is a plus
