The Microsoft Windows Server team is at the heart of building and maintaining robust, scalable, and innovative server solutions that are used worldwide. Our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.

Our team charter includes for providing high quality, reliable and cost-efficient service for Windows Server’s SaaS customers. As a team we focus on driving adoption of the latest Windows Server releases by 1st Party Azure customers through deep coordination with the businesses, identifying and authoring TSGs for general consumption, engagement on incidents to drive down time to mitigation. We are dedicated to helping customers adopt updates with little to no downtime through technical investments.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our entire product ecosystem, with a keen focus on enhancing the stability of Windows Server. Your expertise will be crucial in architecting, crafting, and rolling out AI-driven functionalities and tools that will set new benchmarks in server quality and offer a seamless upgrade experience for Windows Server to our customers.

Your role will involve identifying and collaborating with various Windows Server verticals to address issues. You’ll have a deep understanding of “quality” and will champion robust engineering practices throughout the engineering lifecycle. When necessary, you’ll influence the team to deliver quality solutions.

You’ll apply and adapt best practices to construct reliable code based on tried-and-true methods, while also setting the standard for new code development. Your efforts will drive product development, scaling it to meet customer requirements, and you’ll implement best practices to fulfil scaling needs and performance expectations.

Maintaining open lines of communication with key partners within the Microsoft engineering ecosystem is essential. You’ll act as a primary point of contact for leadership, aligning with partners’ expectations. You’ll consider the objectives of partner teams within your organization and their product goals, working to deliver user experiences that meet the dynamic needs of our partners and customers through thoughtful product development.

Qualifications

Required qualification :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python along with experience in Windows Server

  • OR equivalent experience

Preferred qualification :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python along with experience in Windows Server

  • OR Master's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience
