Overview:

In this role the Senior Lead Engineer will actively drive the design and development of test software, test hardware, review or create test engineering artifacts, support estimate preparation, and guide team on test software design and development.

In performing these activities, the Senior Lead engineer will interface with project managers, engineering managers, software, electrical, and systems engineers, as well as the manufacturing organization and report to Test Equipment technical manager.

Position: Senior Lead Engineer (P3), Systems - Test Equipment

Primary Responsibilities:

Designing and Developing C# .NET solutions to support test engineering applications. Develop NI TestStand sequences. Design and development of test equipment electrical and mechanical specifications from test system requirements. Manage requirements tracking. Develop/Review test equipment hardware design. Lead the development of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) hardware from conception through implementation. Review/ create test equipment design drawings, schematics, BOM and assembly instructions for ATE as per design specification. Creating in-house applications, automated testing platforms and unit tests. Translate application storyboards, design requirements, and use cases into functional applications. Good understanding of driver development, DLLs creation and handling managed and un-managed code. Integrating individual software applications into workable test systems. Revising, Refactoring, Debugging and Maintaining software projects using C#, NI TestStand and other .Net libraries. Drive trade studies, prototype creation, simulation for critical design concepts. Develop verification and validation procedures for test software and ATE to ensure system will perform as specified to meet customer and system requirements. Develop systems integration plan and drive cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification, validation, and commissioning of test equipment. Review test engineering artifacts like design documents, test plan, user manual and related documents.

Skill Sets:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a C# programmer or developer

  • Hands on experience with NI TestStand sequence development.

  • Skill for writing reusable C# (.NET 3.5 or higher) libraries and concurrency patterns in C# using Microsoft Visual Studio.

  • Sound understanding of coding and development processes.

  • Ability to Test and deploy test applications and test systems.

  • Experience in Test equipment hardware design including component selection, review/creation of electrical drawings, schematics, and assembly drawings.

  • Hands on experience on various test and measurement equipment like NI hardware, third party Data Acquisition Systems, Power Supply, DSO, DMM, Analyser, signal generators etc.

  • Knowledge in communications protocols like Serial, Ethernet, CAN and ARINC

  • Experience in usage of tools for requirements management, configuration control, project server, MS OFFICE.

  • Hands on experience on various test and measurement equipment like NI hardware, third party Data Acquisition Systems, DSO, DMM, Analyser, signal generators etc is an added advantage.

  • Very good communications skills.

  • Prefer NI TestStand Certification.

  • Ability to identify problems, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Experience working with ATE’s, Hardware-software integration testing and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to identify problems, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Experience in Aerospace domain- knowledge of DO-160 is preferred.

  • Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, OrCAD, PSpice and MS Visio is preferable.
