Payments Security is seeking a highly motivated and technically inclined Security Engineering Manager to develop and own an end-to-end security function for payments businesses at Amazon. To achieve this mission, you will take charge of securing the set of products developed and managed by associated businesses while also developing your team of high-performing security engineers, driving process improvements, managing stakeholders, and building partnerships.

You will be in-charge of the strategic security roadmap for your businesses, providing security assurance to your leadership and business counterparts, enforcing required security gates and reviews throughout product development lifecycle, understanding security risks and driving their remediation, ensuring products remain secure in production, partnering with offensive security teams (penetration testing, red teaming, etc.) and other security teams to increase security coverage, and evangelizing a security mindset amongst businesses we associate with.

You will work directly with technology experts, business leaders, security evangelists, and various other leaders at Amazon to deliver important initiatives. To be successful, the Manager must:

• Understand business roadmap and technology architectures of products they are in charge of securing

• Partner with internal stakeholders and peer security teams to deliver security roadmaps that raise the security bar for our businesses and customers.

• Have a strong track record of delivering technology and security projects while managing cross-functional leaders.

• Build a highly-effective and self-sufficient security engineering team.

• Be able to dive into technical domains to understand engineering and security dependencies to remove roadblocks.

• Showcase relentlessly high standards who constantly pushes for excellence.

• Always seek opportunities to improve our current state (and is never satisfied with status quo).

• Effectively communicate at various levels of the organization.

• Work with cross-functional leadership, software development, security engineers, and management across Amazon to develop forward-looking roadmap and solutions.

• Influence diverse teams to effectively rally support for your initiatives, and help deeply technical teams create simple solutions to meet your security goals.

• Own all facets of people management, that includes hiring, performance management and career development.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer or Software Engineering with focus on Information Security and 7+ years of hands-on information security experience

• Expertise in common security vulnerabilities at the application and infrastructure levels and 3+ years experience managing a team of security engineers

• Ability to articulate information security topics to technical and non-technical teams and 3+ years experience representing information security to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters in Computer or Software Engineering with focus on Information Security and 10+ years of hands-on information security experience

• Presented information security topics at industry conferences and Obsessed with creating secure-by-design solutions and keeping customers safe

• 5+ years experience managing a team of security engineers

• 5+ years experience representing information security to senior leadership
