Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an ambitious and proven Engineer I, Software Test to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of product development, from product definition to final release

  • Coordinate the efforts of a team of product evaluation test engineers and scientists

  • Work closely with global scrum teams to develop testing materials and ensure software products meet specifications

  • Conduct testing of Enterprise software applications in Agile software development methodology

  • Build and follow Test Plans and Test Cases, document issues, and perform final verification of defect resolutions

  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of new software products, as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing software

  • Communicate project status and issues to other functional teams, collaborators, and management

  • Facilitate the removal of roadblocks to ensure product evaluation team efficiency

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, MS in Chemistry/Bioinformatics or equivalent

  • Minimum of 3+ years of laboratory experience using Thermo or competitor software or equivalent experience testing scientific software or experience with Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry applications

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in requirement analysis, test design, test execution, and defect tracking

  • Motivated and independent work proficiency

  • Decision-making for quality results

  • Ability to work in a team

  • Detailed understanding of qualitative and quantitative analytical chemistry

  • Understanding and ability to apply statistical mathematics

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of software test methodologies

  • Demonstrated technical/scientific knowledge in Life Sciences using Mass Spectrometry or similar analytical techniques

  • Hands-on experience handling LC-MS and/or GC-MS

  • Familiarity with entire SDLC process, particularly in an Agile environment

  • Demonstrated experience in using test management tools

  • Experience with defect tracking systems
