Job & Division Summary

This position is for candidate who will handle product design, make detailed drawings and parts, prepare machinery layouts, and bills of materials or handle technical tasks related to Ingersoll Rand products. They will also share their expertise to help with product development and design improvement projects at the Ingersoll Rand Engineering Technology Centre in India.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering and design of industrial rotating equipment such as blowers, boosters, gears, and allied parts.

  • Understand the design task requirement from global teams and execute with highest level of quality standard.

  • Creation of 3D casting & machining part models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor according to Ingersoll Rand standards, with PLM/PDM release in Windchill and SAP.

  • Perform design calculations to demonstrate the capability of designs.

  • Document Engineering changes thru ECR, ECN, or ECO processes.

  • Cross-functional and global team collaboration.

Mandatory Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in 2D and 3D CAD modelling of large industrial rotating equipment using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Windchill PLM.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the creation of casting, machining, and sheet metal parts is mandatory.

  • Good understanding of DFMA, RCA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, pipe routing, and tubing.

  • Knowledge of gears, bearings, valves, O-rings, and OEM component selection.

Desired skills:

  • Experience in NPD and VAVE projects is an advantage.

  • Multiple CAD skills in Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, and understanding of FEA principles is an advantage.

  • Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask and strong communication skills in English.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to travel both domestic and international as and when required

  • Flexible, adaptable, and eager to deliver timely results despite unanticipated challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in design of industrial equipment. (Experience in design of large industrial products, rotating machines like pumps, compressors, or blower systems will be an advantage)
