Overview:

In this role engineer will be working on complete product development and own the optical design of various aircraft interiors/exteriors lights and other lighting products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge in optics, opto-electronics and Illumination optics.

  • Good knowledge in design and development of free form optics, reflectors, and Lens.

  • Knowledge in optical simulations and calculations to determine the required illuminant and optical system as well as implementation in the product in collaboration with the construction.

  • Knowledge in LED modelling, ray tracing and operation regime.

  • Good understanding of photometric & radiometric quantities, formulae and conversions.

  • Knowledge of optical equipment like Spectrometer, Luminance meter, Lux meter and etc.

  • Knowledge of measuring methods for determining the light intensity, Luminance, color and...

  • Knowledge of optical components like optical filters, reflectors, lens, diffusers etc.

  • Fabrication process of optical components and thin film coating process.

  • Knowledge in power budget calculations.

  • Knowledge in color science, ANSI standards, and etc.

  • Knowledge in LED reliability studies, color Stability, brightness correction, ageing correction.

  • Knowledge in thermal management for LED based Lighting systems.

  • Knowledge on tools / equipments / knowledge required for optical testing and test set-up establishment.

  • Knowledge in optical modeling / ray tracing software tools: Helios or Light Tools or TracePro.

  • Knowledge of CAD software: CATIA V5, Solid Works and Auto Cad.

Additional Preferences:

  • Fundamental knowledge in light source (LED) driving conditions and techniques.

  • Knowledge in writing small codes for testing automation will be preferred.

  • Knowledge in Lab View, Matlab and C.

Other Attributes:

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills will be appreciated.

  • Compatibility so as to easily integrate into a team.

  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of relevant Industry experience.

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Optical/Optoelectronics

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Power Electronics/Electronics & Communication, with experience in optical design and optical products
