The Engineering & Sciences organization is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Test Engineer supporting System Integration and Test (I&T) efforts in the G/ATOR program family, based out of our portfolio in the Maritime & Land Sensors and Systems (MLSS) Division. We are seeking a new team member to be the System I&T Technical Lead for G/ATOR Production program testing.

This position is a full-time on-site position, and will be located in the Linthicum, Maryland area. This position at times will require support on 2nd shift and weekends.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Technical Lead for Production Systems I&T efforts

  • Integrate, troubleshoot, and test RF sensor systems

  • Lead troubleshooting strategies and execution for system test

  • Support integration / lab environment development and establishment

  • Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to understand expected unit level and system level behavior, and ensure testing is producing expected data points

  • Support the development and maintenance of system integration plans and system test plans

This position is contingent upon successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required

  • Ability to drive and lead program technical tasks for a team of engineers

  • Strong ability to communicate cross-functionally

  • Minimum 4 years experience with Subsystem and/or System level test

  • Minimum 2 years experience with component level troubleshooting and resolving integration problems

  • Experience with RF lab test equipment: signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.

  • Ability to read schematics and system diagrams

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with ground radars and AESA radar development, design, test

  • Experience with the G/ATOR program

  • Understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and execution

  • Knowledge and experience with antenna or subsystem control design, test, measurements

  • Experience with test scripting, data analysis, and/or signal processing

  • SAP ERP product knowledge

  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment

  • Multi-disciplinary engineering experience and exposure (Software/Digital, Hardware, Electrical, Systems)

  • Familiarity working with embedded real time software and digital systems

  • Master’s degree in STEM or technical leadership

  • Experience supporting USMC and/or USAF customer

  • Ability to qualify for program access based on customer requirements (SAP/SAR)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. 

Salary Range: $119,200 - $178,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
