PURPOSE:

The Software Asset Management Lead will provide the IT organization with support of the associated end to end software asset processes. This will be accomplished by working with the ITSM Manager, the Software Asset Management Process Owner, and IT stakeholders to implement and manage best practices, process, standards, and policy. The Software Asset Management Process Lead understands Software Asset processes as well as the methodologies and techniques needed to guide an organization to the successful attainment of key KPIs and overarching goals of IT Operations. This position will develop and direct the architecting of strategic priorities, business aligned processes, and Software Asset Management / ITSM initiatives acting as the advocate for process and customer experience integrity, as well as the establishment of process best practices, standards, policy, and enabling proper data gathering and validating methods. The results will enable the enterprise to meet or exceed goals and metrics for various business and IT strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Process Lead: Establish integrated and systematic processes in support of related Software Asset Management processes. Develop the organization's expertise in the Software Asset Management processes and methods. Develop, plan, manage, and coordinate the full lifecycle in a high interoperability IT environment. Empower stakeholders to utilize and leverage the software processes.

  • Maintenance: Provides technical support and problem resolution for customer inquiries regarding the new and existing data analytics, policy, process, standards, and best practices related to Software Asset Management.

  • Communication: Develops partnerships with the consumers of the data analytics to understand business needs. Trains on provided reports and dashboards, policy, process, standards, and best practices.

  • Process Ownership and Management: Define, implement, and manage the SAM processes in alignment with industry best practices and organizational policies. Ensure consistent execution of the SAM process across the organization. Continuously improve the SAM process through regular review and updates.

  • Software Compliance and Governance: Maintain and manage software license compliance, ensuring adherence to vendor agreements and minimizing compliance risks. Develop and enforce software usage policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Software Inventory and Lifecycle Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all software assets. Oversee the entire lifecycle of software assets from acquisition to disposal, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.

  • Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with software vendors and service providers. Develop processes and insight into contracts (new and existing).

  • Financial Management: Analyze and report on software asset expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimization.

  • Reporting and Analytics: Generate regular reports on software asset status, compliance, and financial metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Certifications Preferred:

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) Software Asset Management.

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 3 or 4 Certification preferred, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 5 years software, hardware and/or systems engineering related experience. ITIL and ITSM Processes. Knowledge and experience of end-to-end Asset Management process. Communication and Collaboration. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting. ServiceNow SAMPro, general platform knowledge (foundational).

Salary Range: $94,392 - $187,473
