Job Description:

Senior Civil Engineer – Construction Service Support – Transportation Infrastructure -Baltimore

Opportunity:

  • Our Parsons Baltimore office is now hiring for a Senior Civil Engineer to support construction activities for the B&P Tunnel Replacement Program . In this role you will coordinate our design services during construction for the program. This role is office based at a client field office in the Baltimore area, and does not offer hybrid remote working .

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate field conditions and changes for compliance with design drawings and specifications.

  • Coordinate with subject matter experts in all disciplines to effect design changes, respond to RFIs, and determine corrective actions for non-conformances.

  • Manage the schedule of post-IFC design changes, working with the client and contractor to establish priorities, and guiding a team of peers to complete tasks on schedule.

  • Interpret design drawings and specifications and communicate the requirements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Review plans for technical compliance with design objectives and clarity for construction.

  • Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance

  • Understand and facilitate QA/QC standard and project specific practices.

  • Review construction submittals and material substitution requests.

  • Utilize Bluebeam software for management of RFI and FDC processes and review Construction staging drawings, etc.

  • Perform and support design services on any needed re-work for various design build projects.

  • Provides technical direction to contractors in construction engineering

Requirements:

  • A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field

  • 8 years or more of related work experience, preferably with transportation infrastructure projects

  • An active PE license is desirable, but not required. Ability to obtain a PE in the State of Maryland may be required in the future.

  • Knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project.

  • Experience in inspection and monitoring of work by contractors.

  • Knowledge of construction scheduling processes and production time management

  • Technical knowledge of all phases of transit project will be a plus.

  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Skill in verbal and written communication

  • Proven self-starter and self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge.

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $168,700.00
