Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

• Adhere to location appearance guidelines.

• Act with a sense of urgency and professionalism.

• Employ good safety and sanitation practices.

• Follow responsible alcohol service policies.

• Exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to get along well with others. Remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.

• Set up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, garnishes, glassware, ice and produce.

• Count the stock by verifying the amounts provided on the stand sheet.

• Ensure bar is properly stocked with product and cleaned.

• Fill order placed by guests quickly and efficiently

• Ensure that only guests of legal age are served alcoholic beverages by checking for valid identification.

• Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.

• Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.

• Wash and sterilize stemware.

• Greet and serve guests in a courteous, friendly manner.

• Establish rapport with guests and understand suggestive and upselling techniques.

• Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.

• Take and/or process orders for drinks; mixes, garnishes and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes; practice prudent portion control.

• Use new cups for every beverage transaction.

• Receive payment from guests, record charges and ensure transactions are properly executed.

• Complete sanitation worksheet and Alcohol Incident Log.

• Recount stock and verify on stand sheet, as well as enter end counts into Point of Sale.

• Locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items.

• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.

• Report earned tips in the time clock.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties:

• Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

• React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.

• Demonstrate physical stamina required to be mobile for long periods.

• Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.

• Move from sitting to standing position easily and quickly.

Requirements:

• 2 years’ bartending experience in the hospitality industry or equivalent certification.

• Willingness to learn and grow.

• An outgoing personality is preferred.

• Ability to interact with high profile guests and remain professional and dedicated to providing an exceptional experience.

• The ability to communicate effectively by writing, speaking and comprehending English

• The ability to problem solve and make decisions with little guidance.
