Robert Half Patient Care Coordinator in Bakersfield, California

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Patient Care Coordinator in the healthcare industry, located in Bakersfield, California. In this role, you will be an integral part of our team, handling patient registration and other associated duties in a demanding and fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

• Managing patient registration process, a critical aspect of our revenue cycle.

• Collecting and accurately entering patient demographics into our system.

• Ensuring the collection of co-pays and billing insurances as required.

• Applying CPT codes to create estimate letters and identify the correct insurances to bill.

• Adhering to all healthcare regulatory laws including EMTALA and HIPPA.

• Providing excellent customer service and managing customer inquiries effectively.

• Working efficiently under the pressure of emergency room and OB ED environments.

• Meeting department financial goals and ensuring facility compliance goals.

• Typing at a speed of 45 or more words per minute.

• Adhering to the enforced dress code policy in alignment with our organization's policy. Requirements • Proven experience in customer service roles, preferably within the healthcare industry

• Knowledgeable in healthcare policies, compliance, and regulatory laws

• Familiarity with healthcare billing and CPT codes

• Experience with patient registration and revenue cycle processes

• Understanding of State Laws pertinent to healthcare provision

• Proficiency in using healthcare.gov, NIS and R code

• Demonstrable experience in handling patient demographics

• Capability to perform ad hoc financial tasks

• Experience working in offshore environments

• Familiarity with TRICARE health program

• Proficient in using workstation support tools and systems

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
