Senior Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer - ONSITE Daily (Austin Texas)

Our client in Austin, TX is seeking a talented Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer. As a key member of our DevOps team, you will be responsible for deploying, automating, maintaining, and managing cloud-based infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices. You will work across multiple cloud service providers to ensure seamless functionality and performance, implementing monitoring, configuration management, and logging capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD technologies to streamline our deployment processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Write, modify, and debug Terraform codebase to deploy and maintain infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Run and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks for managing customer infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability.

• Utilize GitLab for version control and collaboration, creating merge requests for infrastructure changes.

• Configure, build, and deploy containerized services using Docker and/or Kubernetes.

• Investigate and troubleshoot connectivity issues by analyzing traffic flow data between customer and hosted environments.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation related to network and system design and governance.

• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and technical bulletins to support infrastructure operations.

• Implement a security-first mindset in all infrastructure activities, adhering to security guidelines and best practices.

• Deploy monitoring, configuration management, and logging solutions to manage multi-tenant cloud infrastructure across diverse platforms.

• Utilize generative AI elements where applicable to improve efficiency, accuracy, and security within defined guidelines.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid knowledge of foundational technologies in AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, Route53, VPC), Azure (Virtual Networks, Application Gateway, Storage Account, Virtual Machines, Load Balancer, Resource Groups), and GCP (Projects, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC).

• Proficiency in Terraform for building modules and deploying applications across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

• Experience with CI/CD technologies for automating build, test, and deployment pipelines.

• Proficient in scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python for automation tasks.

• Strong understanding of RBAC design and provisioning for user access management.

• Familiarity with logging and log processing in cloud environments.

• Working knowledge of networking concepts including IP routing, subnetting, and network troubleshooting.

• Excellent Linux OS skills including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with issue tracking tools like Jira.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• 5-8+ years of hands-on experience with Python, Terraform, Ansible, Concourse CI/CD, Vault, Identity Management.

• Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating system internals and administration, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SDN).
