The Office of the Governor is looking for a Support Services Specialist (Program Specialist I) to work in the Support Services Division.

What Youll Earn

The salary is $3,583.34 - $3,833.34 a month ($43,000.08 - $46,000.08 a year).

What Youll Do

This is a job that performs routine (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves assisting with the planning, developing, and implementing of support services for the agency, including mailroom and property operations, and facility maintenance.

  • Performs customer service by troubleshooting and providing timely resolution to customer issues and concerns.
  • Delivers, picks up, or receives documents, supplies, mail, deliveries, equipment, materials, and property; checks for quantity and quality; and ensures accurate receipt and delivery in accordance with state and agency policies.
  • Screens incoming deliveries, packages, and mail with mail handling equipment and deliveries it to associated buildings and agencies.
  • Assists in the loading and unloading of surplus property.
  • Assists in conducting physical inventory of agency property.
  • Assists in performing authorized office moves; safely transporting, lifting, handling and/or moving office equipment, furniture, and other items as required and directed.
  • Assists in assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining modular furniture systems.
  • Assists in coordinating the maintenance and repair of OOG facilities through Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) or the State Preservation Board.
  • Assists in the inspection of properties to ensure safety and to determine when repairs are needed.
  • Assists with telecommunications installations and moves.
  • Performs routine data entry of information into databases, including work orders.
  • Performs key inventory control; maintains key inventory control logs and key issuance and retrieval.
  • Coordinates agency vehicle repairs, maintenance, and refueling.
  • Serves as the Additional Duty Safety Officer (ADSO) for the division.
  • Provides support to receptionist or telephone switchboard functions as needed.
How Youll Qualify
  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • One (1) year of experience in support services operations, mailroom services, warehouse operations, or a related field.

Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
