Position Title:Sr. Silicon Design Engineer

Job Duties: Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Develop and execute characterization test plans for Datacenter GPUs related to Power attainment and feature tuning for performance optimization. Participate in development of automation environment in developing scripts automating workloads, enhancing capabilities of execution capabilities in Linux, Python, and other support software support tools. Develop and execute performance validation test plans for HPC/ML frameworks. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Position requires experience in the following: 1. Logic and circuit design; 2. CMOS transistor design; 3. RTL design or coding; 4. Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL; 5. Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification; 6. Utilizing debug and lab tools such as oscilloscopes, DAQs, and power measurement capabilities; 7. Performing formal verification of semiconductor products; and 8. ASIC design flow and ASIC Design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis). Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
