Position Title: MTS Systems Design Engineer

Work Location: Austin, TX

Job Duties: Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Improve pre­silicon system validation coverage. Design and develop test environment components to support the pre-silicon validation of embedded firmware, BIOS code features, SW, and directed tests. Write directed tests to verify features in a co-simulated and emulated/FPGA hardware environment. Write monitors and checkers to support end-to-end firmware/hardware validation. Write and developing coverage goals and test plans. Run emulator workloads to test new features. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of or wide-ranging experience with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field, and 36 months of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.

Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field, and 60 months of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.

To qualify for the position with a Master's and three (3) years of experience, position requires three (3) years of experience in the following:

Debugging software and SoC models in emulation environment;

Creating test plan strategies;

Performing hardware verification and validation;

Developing test content using Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;

Functional verification of microprocessors;

C, C++, or Python; and

FPGA architecture, x86-64 architecture, and Soc architecture.

To qualify for the position with a Bachelor's and five (5) years of experience, position requires five (5) years of experience in the following:

Debugging software and SoC models in emulation environment;

Creating test plan strategies;

Performing hardware verification and validation;

Developing test content using Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;

Functional verification of microprocessors;

C, C++, or Python; and

FPGA architecture, x86-64 architecture, and Soc architecture.
