TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Equitable Access Specialist (Remote) in Austin, Texas

WHO YOU ARE: The ideal candidate must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, the ability to maintain a reliable, consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Equitable Access Specialist (Program Specialist IV) performs highly complex (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: - Coordinate with other divisions regarding data gathering and statistical or other quantifiable data analyses of claimant recipiency rates by demographic groups and other equitable access issues and investigated any noted issues. - Review policies and procedures to assist in determining whether modifications are needed to provide equal access to people with disabilities or address other barriers to access. - Collaborate with UI in communicating next steps to claimants using behavioral insights to improve claimant self-sufficiency and response rates. - Collaborate with UI with designing forms and decision trees and building an equitable access framework. - Lead efforts to include community groups and members of various protected groups via affirmative outreach to ensure equitable access. - Assist with mapping and evaluating the customer journeys to determine access issues or possible unintended discrimination. - Assist continued efforts to incorporate plain language and improve readability of forms, determinations, and other forms of communication. - Assist in the development and updates of a language access plans that provides effective and meaningful access. - Assists the statewide EO Officer, as needed, with evaluation and investigation of equitable access, language access, and related issues. - Serves as backup for other EOCD duties as needed. - Presents information to groups on various equitable access topics. - Performs specialized projects as assigned; nature and scope of projects can vary. -Perform related work as needed.

YOU QUALIFY WITH: -Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus one year and six months of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency. -One year of full-time experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education. -Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH: - Experience in equitable access. - Experience with unemployment compensation program(s) or other federally funded benefit programs. - Experience with reviewing and utilizing data analysis. - Experience with developing or updating language access plans. - Experience with management or business analysis. - Experience with Internet, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
