Robert Half Customer Service Representative in Austin, Texas
Description We are in search of a Customer Service Representative to join our health insurance team in Austin, Texas. This position revolves around handling customer queries, maintaining accurate records, and efficiently processing applications. As a Customer Service Representative, you will also monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process customer applications for dental and vision insurance plans.
• Actively listen to customer inquiries, displaying empathy and compassion, and employ probing questions to understand their issues better.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in member service policies, marketing campaigns, associations, products/services/solutions to respond accurately to member inquiries.
• Handle member inquiries, ranging from routine to complex, which require in-depth knowledge of Dental & Vision Plans, Services, and Procedures.
• Uphold high standards of member service through timely, courteous, and diplomatic handling of insured and prospective members.
• Research and resolve issues/complaints, determining appropriate resolutions.
• Keep member accounts current, completing transactional requests during the call.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell, necessitating a transfer to a licensed representative.
• Strive to achieve business production goals and objectives.
• Ensure first call resolution on all transactions handled. Requirements • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a call center environment.
• Proficient understanding of health insurance benefits and related processes.
• Demonstrable skills in call center customer service, including handling high-volume calls.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the health insurance industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to empathize and build relationships with customers.
• Ability to effectively resolve customer issues and complaints.
• Capability to explain complex insurance benefits to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proficient in using computers and relevant software applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
