Job Summary:

  • Independent assessment and management of general adult cardiology patients

  • Provide timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Independent assessment and management of general adult medical genetics patients in follow-up, including cardiovascular genetics

  • Development of focused expertise in evaluation and management of patients referred for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome / Joint Hypermobility indications

  • Coordinate management of adult patients with lysosomal storage and other inborn errors of metabolism

  • Collaboration with Medical Genetics physician and genetic counselors in clinic

  • Provide timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • State of Colorado Certified Physician Assistant or Inclusion on the State of Colorado Advanced Practice Registry as an Advance Practice Nurse

  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners/American Nurses Credentialing Center

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in ambulatory management of Medical Genetics patients

  • 2 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in ambulatory management of adult Cardiology patients

The Adult Medical Genetics Program, housed in the Division of Cardiology, at the University of Colorado has an opening for a full-time instructor to work at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. This position is for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant for the General Cardiology and Adult Medical Genetics Program. This position will be a combined position: 0.5 FTE in outpatient General Cardiology and 0.5 FTE in Adult Medical Genetics. The Outpatient General Cardiology portion will include outpatient assessment and management of our adult cardiology patients in conjunction with cardiologists and other advanced practice providers. The starting salary range () for this position has been established as $90,000 to $135,000 The above salary range () represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
