The Office of Medical Education is searching for DOCS Coaches for the Trek Curriculum of MD Program with a start date of approximately July 1, 2024. All first-year students enrolled in CUSOM's Trek curriculum participate in weekly small groups clinical skills training during their pre-clerkship year as part of the Developing Our Clinical Skills (DOCS) course. This dynamic, experiential course is designed to produce humanistic student physicians by developing their foundational clinical and professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes via an integrated curriculum. The curriculum emphasizes communication and interpersonal skills, cultural humility, physical examination, clinical reasoning, and professional development while promoting patient-centered care, teamwork, reflection, and coach-learner partnerships. Standardized patient interactions also comprise significant portions of the course. DOCS coaches will facilitate a small group of eight (8) students and utilize a "coach approach" when delivering the course's curriculum. In addition to teaching students, DOCS coaches will observe students' clinical skills, deliver individualized feedback, evaluate student performance, and provide effective remediation. DOCS coaches will be considered core faculty in the Trek curriculum. Core faculty influence and shape students' learning environment as well as their professional identity formation and will be held to the highest professional standards. Although clinical skills coaching via small group facilitation during the DOCS course is the primary role of the DOCS coaches, they will also be responsible for other tasks in the curriculum (i.e., directly observe and provide feedback on students' clinical skills during subsequent portions of the Trek curriculum, participate in competency and standard setting committees, and teach elsewhere in the Trek curriculum). DOCS Coaches will report jointly to the DOCS Course Directors and the Director of Clinical Sciences. Curriculum Execution (Teaching/Coaching): Student Assessment: Student Support

– this role is eligible to work in a hybrid capacity and work on-site as needed for meetings and appointments. The employee must reside in the United States.
