The Four One's Landing Line Cook in Augres, Michigan

Job Type: Part-Time (20-30 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours per week during summer months)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled line cook to join our dynamic kitchen team at The Four One's Landing. As a line cook, you will play a critical role in preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.

  • Station Management: Manage and maintain a designated cooking station (grill, sauté, fry, etc.), ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment.

  • Cooking and Plating: Cook food to order, plate dishes beautifully, and adhere to restaurant presentation standards.

  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality and taste, adjusting as needed to meet the restaurant's standards.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by keeping track of stock levels, notifying the chef of low inventory, and following proper storage procedures.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs and prep cooks, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring kitchen cleanliness and safe food handling practices.

  • Communication: Effectively communicate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.

  • Qualifications:

    • Prior experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred, right canidate willing to train.
    • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
    • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Fast-paced work environment with a need for physical stamina and agility.
