Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are a distribution center in Auburn that transports a variety of products such as ATVs, gas, food, and beverages to Alaska throughout the year. We are seeking Warehouse candidates with at least 1-2 years of sit-down forklift experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of reading bill of ladings, and can transport materials to the correct trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down forklifts to transport materials.

  • Read and interpret bill of ladings.

  • Ensure materials are loaded and unloaded correctly to the right trucks.

  • Perform some heavy lifting up to 75lbs, especially for heavier materials like carpets, which will require team lifting.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of sit-down forklift experience.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to read and interpret bill of ladings.

  • Capability to lift heavy materials up to 75lbs.

  • Strong understanding of safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in shipping and material handling.

  • Warehouse experience.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The warehouse is extremely clean and organized, featuring both live and secondary loading dock areas. Shift start times are at 4am, 6am, 7am, 8am, and 10:30am, with regular shifts running from 8am to 4:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Overtime is available on Wednesdays and Fridays, with work extending until 7 or 8pm. The warehouse has receiving doors on both sides of the building, making it cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Safety is a priority, with approximately 30-40 forklifts in operation, and a focus on avoiding careless behavior.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AUBURN, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
